Our classes are fully bilingual. Two teachers are responsible for each class - a Polish speaker and an English speaker. Our teachers are native English or native Polish speakers who interact solely in their native language while with the class.
Our Language Program is based on the immersion approach. In addition to Language Arts, all other subjects are taught in either English or Polish. Each day, half the day is dedicated to learning the Polish language and other subjects taught in Polish. The other half day is dedicated to English language arts and other subjects taught in English.
In addition, students learn French throughout the week through our partnership with the Alliance Française.
Our accelerated curriculum exceeds the requirements of the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum and places a particular focus on mastery of core skills in the early primary years.
Our Polish Language Arts program is based on the curricular requirements of the Polish Ministry of Education.
In addition to language arts, core subject areas are taught in either Polish or English.
The program utilizes a blend of direct instruction and inquiry-based approaches that facilitate the development of a well-rounded child.
The English language component of the Primary Program includes the following key learning areas:
- English Language Arts including the development of literacy, oral communication, writing, and reading
A phonics approach is used to teach reading, including Reading Mastery, a proven direct instruction approach
- Mathematics – two streams of math instruction are included:
Curricular concepts that include various topics required as part of the Provincial curriculum
Mathematics mastery to develop a strong foundation in core operations and concepts
Our program uses a combination of the Singapore Math, JUMP Mathematics program, and other mathematics mastery programs
The program is accelerated and draws upon concepts from higher grade levels
- Science is taught both through direct instruction of foundational concepts and using an inquiry-based approach
- Social Studies
- Visual Arts and Music is incorporated into both the Polish and English language programs.
Some of our subject areas alternate between being taught in English or Polish to enhance the development of vocabulary.
The Polish language component of the Primary Program includes the following key learning areas:
- Polish Language Arts including the development of reading, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Polish history, geography, and culture
- Nature and outdoor learning is taught in the beautiful surroundings of the school in South Bloordale Park
- Religion
- Physical education and health
- Additional practice of math concepts
- Additional topics in Science
Students receive French language instruction 2 – 3 days per week. Our French program is taught through a partnership with the Alliance Française.
A native French speaker teaches the French language program developed by the Alliance.

During Kindergarten, we offer phonetic programs in both languages. Children will be ready for Grade 1 in both languages at the end of the Kindergarten program.
Our program is founded on an accelerated and enhanced curriculum based on the Kindergarten and Grade One curriculum outcomes from the Ontario Ministry of Education.
Our Polish Language Arts program for Kindergarten utilizes ability expectations from the Polish Ministry of Education for entry into primary education. In addition to language arts, core subject areas are taught in either Polish or English.
The program utilizes a blend of direct instruction and inquiry-based approaches that facilitate the development of a well-rounded child.
The English language component of the Kindergarten Program includes the following key learning areas:
- English Language Arts including the development of literacy, oral communication, writing, and reading. A phonics approach is used to teach reading, including Reading Mastery, a proven direct instruction approach.
- Mathematics is taught through both teacher-led and inquiry-based approaches. The Jump Mathematics program is used in addition to the use of various manipulatives and tools to facilitate learning. Senior Kindergarten students are introduced to Grade One math curriculum when ready
- Science is taught through an inquiry-based approach and includes in-depth exploration of selected topics
- Social Studies
- Music
